I've been interested in a supper club for a few years now, but my hesitation is that I'm a real introvert. As in, I am off the charts for introversion on those personality tests you can take. I love to cook and would like to get together with others who enjoy it too. But I'm afraid I'd just dread the dinner nights. Anyone else really shy but have good luck with a supper club? I'm thinking the cooking would be a good "buffer".
Also, do you prefer to go solo or do you all bring your mates?
Any thoughts?

Hi,
I'm pretty shy too, but I really enjoyed the Supper Club I was a part of. I almost chickenend out of going to the first meeting to organize the group. And, the first dinner was very hard for me. We decided to include spouses, but not for the first dinner. Going to a stranger's house by myself for that first dinner was very stressful. But, I knew I had to show up because I was bringing dessert! :p Anyway, I had such a good time at that first get together that it was much easier to go to the next get together (of course, my husband came to that one, which helped). The really great thing is, after 3 or 4 get togethers, I didn't care whether my husband came or not. I was quite comfortable with my new friends on my own. I think it does take a little more time for those of us who are shy to find a comfort level with a group of new people, but its definitely worth the effort.
I think you should try joining one. You really don't have anything to lose - maybe you'll have some of fun and make some new friends. And, once they're friends, it won't be intimidating anymore :) Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I haven't been checking in for a while since I didn't get any responses. I think you're right. It's worth a try, right? And I really do want to do it.
Thanks again. Hope your'e still enjoying your supper club!
I'm really shy and just joined a supper club. It has been a great experience. Of course they do notice that I'm quite and I told them to give me time and I'll open up. They all seem okay with that and I'm now beginning to open up more with them. Take a chance for me it's been great.
