I know that given all the hardships people are enduring down there right now, it seems silly to even think about this, but at one point, because I got an early catalog from them on Tuesday, I was wondering what would happen to the citrus crop, most especially the Honeybells!

Coincidentally, I just got this e-mail from the folks I order from. The short of it is: there will be Honeybells.

With that happy thought I leave you for the weekend...enjoy!

Although Hurricane Frances has caused the very dickens in South Florida we are very, very blessed. Mike and our harvesting manager Ronnie have been out for the past few days riding through dozens and dozens of groves and Mike reports that although there have been some losses to be sure, we still have a great crop hanging on the trees. You know, we’ve been doing this for 60 years and we’ve experienced just about everything. This is just another little bump in the road and we feel very fortunate to have ample fruit of fine quality to meet all your wants and needs.

I want to share with you the very happy news that all of our staff members and their families are safe and sound. Only minimal damage was suffered to our buildings in West Palm Beach and our packing house in Fort Pierce, something we can recover from quickly. We expect to open the doors of our retail stores on time this fall, when the crop is ready for harvesting.

One of the most important things we have going for us as a company is the thoughts and prayers and well wishes of wonderful customers like you. Thank you so much.

When our staff got together this morning in the kitchen at our West Palm Beach offices, everyone agreed how blessed we are to have the privilege of doing business with kind, generous folks like you.

I wish I could have signed this or reached out and shook your hand. But I guess we both know the internet doesn’t work that way. Thanks again.

Bob,

Your citrus supplier sounds wonderful. Thanks for posting the letter. Do they have a website?
