I made these last weekend. Interesting preface to an Asian meal. Serious alcohol, though. I found out the hard way.
GREEN TEA MARTINI
1 oz. plain brewed green tea*
1 oz. triple sec
2 oz. Absolut Citron
Shake in cocktail shaker with ice until chilled. Pour into a martini glass, which has been rimmed with lime and superfine sugar. Add a lime twist for decoration.
*8 oz. water brewed with one green tea bag, cooled.
This is a dead serious martini, and the green tea gives it an almost classic martini vermouth-like quality. First one, I found the triple sec too sweet, so on the second one, I upped the tea to 2 oz., which I liked much better.
One other cocktail, more for company because it's "pretty," while still potent, is the Purple Margarita. Use your basic margarita, but use Blue Curacao for the triple sec/cointreau and cranberry juice for the usual lime juice.
It probably could use one of those parasols, if you've got them...;)
