Help! Does anyone have an old recipe for....

i hope someone has a recipe for a dish a friend's mother used to make every Thanksgiving....she died and never wrote the recipe down.

it's called Eggbread Dressing. she made an egg bread, crumbled it up, added chicken stock, seasonings, and, of all things, grits!

that's about all i can remember of the recipe, but it was so good! i think she also added in some shredded chicken or turkey, but very little.

i want to try to make this this year if i can get a recipe for it.

can anyone help???

I was born & raised in Atlanta, so naturally the ONLY kind of dressing was and is cornbread dressing.

HOWEVER, my mother always added grits to the mixture.

I don't have a recipe ... we just sort of make it by "feel" ... but just wanted to say that adding grits to dressing isn't as weird as you might think.

Bumping this up to see if anyone has a recipe with measurements because this does sound interesting and might be worth a try this year.
