Before moving on to APril - what are your favorites for March?
I have not had a chance to try as many as I would like - but so far my two top favorites are: Pan Seared Chicken w Artichokes & Pasta (my husband rated this a 10!!!), and Asian Flounder (8 rating - yummy).
I can't wait to hear what you guys think.
I'm glad you mentioned the Pan Seared Chicken with Artichokes because I was going to be making that in the next few days and was wondering how it would be. It sounded wonderful but you never know until you try them right? Thanks for the endorsement Rustysmom! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif I haven't had a chance to try any from that issue as I've been making a lot of recipes from the CL Complete Cookbook. So many good ones in there!

Still several to try but here are 3 that stood out above the others I tried in March
Pepper, Coriander, Sesame-Seed Crusted Salmon
Black Bean Salad with Lime-Cumin Dressing

hka,
Use the BB search feature to find the thread on the pan-seared chicken with artichokes. There are some nice reviews along with hints, tips, substitutions, and changes we have made.
I loved that recipe!

I haven't really tried too many things from March, but I really enjoyed the Pepper, Coriander, Sesame-Seed Crusted Salmon, it was easy, yet special. I have had the rosemary potatoes twice, surprisingly good for being from the microwave. I also enjoyed the puffed pancake, which was very easy.

I was a big fan of the Thai Coconut-Curried Salmon with Greens; I also loved the Tuscan Bean and Barley soup, and the Gingerbread Cake with Blueberry Sauce (although our supper club used blackberries) was incredible. I really enjoyed this issue!

I second a nod for the Thai Coconut-Currie dSalmon with greens - yum, yum! A real favorite of all time!
We also really liked the Irish Bread pudding with whiskey sauce, and the gingerbread cake with blueberry sauce. The Chicken Lettuce Wraps were good, and the leftover sauce was also good on pasta a day or so later. The Pepper Corriander Salmon was really good too, especially the sauce - really good!
I loved everything about the March issue - so now April doesn't look as good - I still have March things I want to make though.....

Zoiks!
I just realized that I've only made 3 march recipes(Greek tuna steaks, spinach-feta stuffed shells, rosemary potatoes. The potatoes win out over the tuna because of ease. I will not be making the shells again), out of the several that i have tried this month. okay -- this gives me a goal to reach before I get my April issue...

My favorites so far this month are the Pan-Roasted Pork Loin With Leeks and the Pan-Seared Chicken With Artichokes and Pasta.
This week I plan on making quite a few March recipes, so I may have to add to this favorites list later. (I hope I will.)

Here is a list of our favorites from March '01. I would repeat all of these:
Spaghetti Alla Norma
Zucchini Casserole with Red-Pepper Aioli
Beef with Rosemary-Mushroom Sauce
Middle Eastern Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
Rosemary Potatoes
Sauteed Mushrooms with Porcinis
Aw Maw's Potatoes (I just made these for the second time last night and I think they are great! I decreased the salt to 1 teaspoonful this time and they were much better. Two teaspoons was just too much salt!)
Peggy
P.S. I'm going to have to try the Thai Coconut-Curried Salmon with Greens!
P.S.S. I just read the bolding instructions on the other thread and have attempted to "bold" my recipe names. I'm crossing my fingers...
P.S.S.S. It worked!!! I'm sooooo excited! Doesn't take much, I know...

we've tried several recipes from march (since we are still waiting for the april issue... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/mad.gif ) i was never really excited about the march issue though, which makes waiting for april even harder!!!
so far, the only march recipe that we REALLY liked that we'll make again is the Spaghetti Alla Norma. Very easy, and very yummy. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
we've tried a few other recipes too. they were good but not great:
-Greek Tuna Steaks
-Beef with Rosemary-Mushroom Sauce
-spinach-feta stuffed shells (needs more cheese & less spinach!)
-Pepper Corriander Salmon (i'm not a fish fan, though)
Hi goldilocks, my goodness, I've made quite a few and my memory is not that good at remembering all the names (and I'm not THAT old) http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif. I recently made the Caribbean Beans and Rice. I love beans and rice together and this one was wonderful. At least I thought so. I've also made the Feta Mashed Potatoes and the Beef Brisket in Beer. That one was great because I was able to put it on mid afternoon, as it needs to cook for several hours, and then come back after being out and have dinner done! The meet just fell apart!! There's a Creamy Ceasar Salad that I've made that I thought was wonderful. I've also made a couple of the desserts such as the Banana Pudding and the Blueberry Cobbler. As you can tell, I loved everything. If you have that cookbook, give those a whirl. Oh, one more that I recently made was a Honey-pecan chicken. You dipped the chicken in a honey mixture and then rolled the pieces in a mixture of crushed cornflakes and chopped pecans and then baked it. It was really good! Okay, I think I've taken up enough room here!
I did not make many things from the March issue- I am still on the Jan/Feb. issue plus my recently purchased Complete Cl Cookbook but I must say that the Rosemary potatoes were wonderful- fast and flavorful. I served them with the Maple glazed Salmon, steamed carrots and for dessert the delectable Honey Apple Torte. Winners all!! (even the steamed carrots!!)

I agree that the Beef with Rosemary Mushroom Sauce was good but not great.
Also tried the Rosemary Roasted Potatoes, prefer to steam them and them give them a quick saute in a little melted butter, garlic and parsley. Microwaving them made them look a little "wrinkled", not as appetizing.
