View Full Version : U.S. Election Poll: Undecided voters (nonpartisan)

A recent poll in my state indicated that 9 percent of voters remain undecided. This surprised me because the two major-party candidates seem very different to me and from what I know of the third-party candidates, they also have distinct views.
Soooo...I am curious. Are you undecided? If so, what will help you make your choice?
I made my choice already and do not expect to hear anything that will change my mind.

I'm in the first category. I can't imagine there being anything that would change my mind.
[on soapbox]And on a tangent, I think I might get this shirt for DS. :p :p

In my opinion, there's no reason not to vote! [/off soapbox]

Still undecided, but with leanings... :p
I will be making my final decision after the debates.

Well I don't vote and there's nothing that's going to make me decide to vote. I have plenty of excuses why, not that any of them should matter to anyone else (and hey, your vote will only count more without mine there!). :D
I appreciate we have the right, I just don't care to exercise it.

My mind is made up and I honestly can't think of anything that would change it. If the news broke (and was true) that my candidate was a drug-abusing serial rapist, I would still think he was a better choice than his opposition. Sad, huh?
I am undecided, although I do think I know who I will vote for in the end. (Guess that's why I live in a swing state. :) )
Like Rebecca, I am very much looking forward to the debates.

Crap, I don't remember which choice I made. It was either I wasn't going to vote or that I hadn't decided. Maybe I haven't decided if I am going to vote or not. How is that?
Since I live it Texas, it honestly doesn't matter who I vote for. I like Bush and want to support him on the war, but because he is so conservative on the social issues, I don't feel like I can vote for him.
I just don't feel like I know anything about Kerry except that he is not Bush, and I find it hard to respect that. He does have a cool name, though. :)
I don't think Nadar made the ballot here, or else I might vote for him. Otherwise, if Kerry does something to impress me, I will end up voting for him. If not, I will probably not vote.
NOTE: I was trying to be vague and can support my views if asked, but I really don't want to get into it on this board and I do not want to start any fights.
Just thought it was an interesting poll and wanted to respond as an un-decided voter.

I voted that I've decided and it would take something significant to change my mind. That said, I'm becoming increasingly discouraged by how the campaign is being run- I feel like I never hear anything about the issues from either candidate, only why the other guy isn't fit to serve. I can't wait for Election Day to come and go.

I voted "I don't plan to vote", but it's more accurately, "I can't vote", since I'm not yet a US citizen. I'm amazed at the number of Americans around me who don't realize that you have to be a citizen to vote  .

I am decided and I know who I am voting for and there is absolutly nothing out there that could possibly change my vote.
I, too, cannot wait for election day to be over with. I'm sick of the commercials, the bashing, and the general upheavel elections seem to cause!

I've made my choice and only a major scandal could change my mind.
It will be interesting to see how many undecided voters there will be after the debates.
I haven't seen many commercials- either because I don't live in a swing state or they just don't advertise on the Food Network!:)

Exactly. At this point in time, I don't know what I'll do because I am not impressed with either candidate. I will definitely be watching the debates and will be basing my decision on that. I have moments when I consider not voting as this one will be tough picking your poison or the lesser of the 2 evils.
