I just wanted to share my opinion on whole wheat and refined and the battle to eat healthier carbs. I find it amazing that so many people think whole wheat is always better nutritionally than white bread. Whole wheat bread usually contains some white flour and actually very little fiber! Some types may be all whole grain with high fiber and are okay.

One of the healthiest types of bread is called Ezekial Sprouted Grain Bread. It's great for digestion, is high in fiber, and contains no flour. It's made from sprouted grains. However, I feel that the whole point of whole wheat is defeated when mixing in white flour. (I don't care how "airy" or "dense" my bread is.) King Arthur's White Whole Wheat flour is my favorite for cooking.

White flour is still my favorite food and I enjoy it every day. I have tried going on a whole wheat diet, and I found it of no help to me, so I switched to white. It's enriched with the same vitamins and minerals and the fiber in whole wheat never "worked" well for me.
