I'm in PA, my issue is still not here, but I will not worry about it. I am going back to the other issues I have breezed over and am discovering all kinds of recipes. However, I can go to the mailbox and only hope . . .

Hi, I've had my issue since the 22nd.. bragging...lol! There is a neat article about Cooking Club NYC (www.cookingclubnyc.com) which I really enjoyed. Alos the veggie lasagna I'm thinking is a must to taste! Here's me.. maybe one day.. I'll have the opportunity to live there for a few months or year.. Mine came yesterday, the 26th, for my birthday. I was kidding my husband when he asked what I wanted for my birthday and said, I want my CL! and guess what?! There it was later in the day in the mailbox. Sat right down and spent two hours going over it.

i was at my local grocer last night and i went to the newstand to see the march issue of CL to double check some ingredients but instead of the March issue i found the April issue!! i ussually get it way before them. Last month they still had Dec sitting there!!

No April issue here yet (HI), but no surprise! I did receive in the mail a coupon good to renew my subscription for $16.00. I wonder what to do since I already renewed (but haven't yet sent the money in since I've been so peeved with delivery lately) and they charged me $22. Do you think I can just send in the $16.00 coupon with the $16 bucks and call it good?

I posted this on the ..."I'm envious" thread. Hope I am not tredding on anyone feelings but...

I received the issue last week, I am still trying to catch up on March, haven't even considered any of the April recipes. I believe one of the pitfalls of the BB is those who flaunt their reception of the next issue! Maybe we should make it a rule not to post a review until the month of issue matches the actual month we are in!
Besides which, I am not one who makes a recipe based on anothers review (unless of course the recipe comes directly from Gail and has the anotations that would spark the interest of even the most annal cooks (of which I find myself in that category!)

i completely agree with you sneezles. I always cook with the issue of the current month even if the issue is not that chock ful of great recipes. But you never know what surprises you run into by making things you would normally miss.

I got that same coupon and called them directly and ordered. They even extended the savings over additional subscriptions (I ordered more than one year's worth). I would tell them on the phone how pissed you are that you don't get monthly issues quickly enough and I'm sure they'll give you the lower price, even though you originally ordered it at $22! And I'm still waiting on my April issue......

Got it yesterday (3/27). It looks great. Maybe we should take the advice in another post (sorry, I forget who said it) and not post recipe reviews/information about the new issue until the calendar month. That way those who receive it later won't be so frustrated.

I couldn't disagree more with those that think reviews shouldn't be posted just because a bunch of us haven't received the issue yet. I have not received April yet and am dying to get it! Saw it in Borders and it was sooooo tempting to take a look but I prefer to wait and savor my own copy.

Now just because we don't have the issue doesn't mean that others shouldn't enjoy the sharing of information and talking about the recipes - that's what the bulletin board is for! Why in the world would it be so upsetting that you would choose to censor others and put a damper on their enthusiasm? If you don't like the reviews just don't read them. Come on guys!

Just wanted to say that the April issue went on the newstand here in Victoria today!!!
I gave up subscribing after many problems- late issues no issues and not enough issues!!!
The cover of the April edition looks great- score one for us veggies.
I would also like to say that I agree with Bossy- I like to read reviews even though it may be 2-3 weeks befor I get my copy. It makes the anticipation all the more intense and I like looking at the reviewed recipes first. If you would rather not see the reviews just don't read those threads. Now if you'll excuse me its time for my bath with the new CL in hand.....

OMG!! I couldn't believe it. My DH is on leave (vacation for you non military) and he went and got the mail at lunchtime. My April issue was there!!! Maybe someone is listening to my little gripes about Hawaii delivery. Either that or my phone call complaining about March delivery red flagged someone? We'll see what happens next month.

Haven't had time to sit down and look at it yet, maybe after the little one goes to bed.
