Ana - try here (http://curtain.timeinc.net/CK/newsstand_signin.jhtml?zone=CK&_requestid=1388019&_requestid=1388019)

Do you have a subscription, or are you a newstand buyer? If you have a sub, you don't need the code.

Thanks for trying...

I am a newstand buyer...
I know the password (even though it makes me feel like I'm a 2 year old having to ask for permission    )...
CL contacted me and gave me a different URL...I also tried that one.
I dump in the password and get the site...as soon as I try to use anything on the site, I get the subscription page again.

I think I'll stick to Martha Stewart and Epicurious....they don't treat me like a 2 year old

I appreciate your efforts. :)

Ana:
Maybe you need to clear your cookies off the computer. I can get into the site with the newstand password. I agree...I think its very bad marketing to exclude people from your site. I'm not tempted into buying the magazine just so I can access a site

I'm having the same problem as Wallycat. This is SO frustrating. I buy CL every month. I can't search. I want to pick up the December recipes download...but need the search in order to find the xxxxxxxxxxx thing.

Cookies? Wonder if Wallycat got it fixed. I do want to subscibe again, because I think it probably helps them at CL and they help us.

Any ideas about how to find the december CL recipes? Thanks.

Problem not solved.
It's fine if I use it on someone else's computer but not mine.
My cookies are enabled...so I have no idea what the problem is. It worked for about 2 weeks and is backing to not letting me search.
The december recipes are posted...I can search but can't view the recipe I select.

Password is Cookies if I am not messing this up with some other stupid magazine site. I still can't get it to let me view....sigh.

Wallycat,

Hmmm.... this IS frustrating. I use two different internet browswers, I.E. and Avant. Both don't work on CL newstand and both have cookies enabled. No problems ever at any website before. Wish they had a phone contact. Would be so easy. I don't want to write. Give em my blood type and names of children <sarcasm> and address and etc etc etc forms forms... GAWD I HATE THOSE FORMS!!

Shall we toss it off and go out dancing?? That's a good idea. Forget cooking!! :D

I bought the dam magazine and STILL can't use the bloomin site! I don't think this thing works. i have no problem in any other sites, but this place is a nightmare.

Supposedly I'm supposed to be able to use "My kitchen" and do things like save cookbooks and favorite recipes. Yeah right. I've registered now about a DOZEN times. Each time it takes me to a blank page. i have enable ALL active X controls. Nada. zip zilch nothing.

I HATE THIS SITE. i'M LEAVING. I'M NEVER COMING BACK. AND I'M GOING TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION IF AT ALL POSSIBLE. Which i doubt after seeing how you get screwed around in here. I expect to be getting magazines i don't want for the rest of my life.

This place is a nightmare.

I feel the opposite. I love this website and buy the magazine mostly to support it because I do love it. The forum is a great place to be around people who cook and love to talk about what they cook and to share recipes. (And we don't need to sign in to view it.)

I wrote (actually, I emailed) to the Cooking Light people and rec'd a quick response that helped me.

This is the link that helped me (and for some reason, I had not been able to find on my own -- maybe it was my mistake), from Cooking Light's response to my letter:

For immediate access to COOKINGLIGHT.com you may go directly to www.cookinglight.com/nb_signin and enter the website access code from inside your magazine - it's usually found in the Table of Contents.

Hope it helps someone else who is lost.

I have tried this link before with no success, but....I decided to try it using Mozzila instead of explorer...
VOILA!!! I was able to get in!
Not sure how long this will last but I am doing the happy dance today :)

Wallycat,

How odd. Your I.E., I wonder what the deal is there? Well, glad u found a solution. :)

I'm still not clear about what we can and what we cannot access. Here is my understanding...and might be wrong: The forums are open to anyone, regardless. No sign in required. Registration is required is we want to start a thread or reply to a post, but still no subscription or magazine purchase is required.

The subscription or newstand purchase is required for..... ? Some searches? Some other stuff?? Sometimes people have posted links ...in the forum and I can't access the link without have made a purchase. I am a bit confused...as u can see.
