There has actually been a club in the south bay for two years that has gone through a bit of attrition as people have moved away. Right now there are only two of us left so if you want to group together with yours that would be great. Did any of you join the other sunnyvale/mountain view club?

Okay, I contacted Desie (the other member from the old group) and suggested we get together at her house Sunday October 24 and just do some recipes from this month's magazine. She lives in Willow Glen.

I'm moving that weekend (from Santa Clara to Campbell). I can try to show up, but I doubt I'll have access to a working kitchen. If you don't mind either something store bought for one meeting, that's fine. I have no idea where Willow Glen is. I've been in the San Jose area for about 10 months, and I still don't know that much of it.

I don't think we need to meet before we meet. We can do all the talking/meeting/figuring stuff out at the first meeting.

Okay girls, that would make 5 in the group -- a comfortable number. How about meeting just for coffee and something baked at Desie's house at 10:30 am Sunday October 24? Desie has offered to host and if anybody wants to bake a goodie they can and if they're too busy it will be okay too. I'm having a garage sale that Saturday so I won't exactly be up to cooking either. Willow Glen is very close to IBM by Curtner. If you're in Campbell its just south of you. I live in Sunnyvale so we're all within 20 minutes of each other.

Would you guys happen to have room for another member?

I'm a wife and mother, and I'm 25 years old. I live in San Jose, near the Milpitas border. Just moved here almost two years ago. I'm fairly new to cooking though (3 years), so I don't know if that's ok with you guys or not. I've been interested in light cooking recently because of weight gain after having my daughter as well as finding out about my husband's high blood pressure and cholesterol (he's only 28!!)..

I'm not sure if I can make a 10:30 meeting on Sunday though since I will be attending a meeting (church) at 12:30. It may be impossible for me.

Okay, Usako would bring us up to 6 members. In talking to Desie the timing really isn't as formal as 10:30 -- if you all have church or other obligations just let us know. It's more of a sunday brunchtime open house thing. Desie has a 3 year old boy who is very active and cute so expect family style. The main thing is to meet each other and get up to speed on future plans. Time tends to fly at these supper club meetings. Let's just make it 11:30 and plan on finishing around one.

Desie will be out of town until the end of the week and hopefully I'll get directions to her house by soon. I seem to have misplaced my old copy.
