View Full Version : clearance revisited
I decided to revisit the tavolo.com website again to see if they had put anymore items on clearance and hit the jackpot (after I'd already received my first order of goodies.) Ended up buying a whole bunch of spices that I can never talk myself into spending the money on at the grocery store, and they were at prices between $.75 and $2. Also purchased a $200 fondue set for $50 and a three wine bottle insulated tote! Check it out!

Abby, thanks for the heads up. I noticed the gorgeous kitchen towels I bought are now only $2.99.
The gift baskets (some) look amazing, although many are sold.

Have you received shipping confirmation from them? Seems everything is working on half-time or less over there at Tavolo.

I ordered another batch of stuff last Wednesday, and it hasn't shipped yet. They did send me an email fairly quickly alerting me that one thing I ordered wasn't in stock after all. Last time I ordered it took about a week before my shipment actually went out to me.

Okay! Okay!! I had to buy stuff!! I tried to resist, but you guys are ruthless! A $200 fondue set for $50? Amazing. I guess I will have to make fondue now. It was odd, as I was shopping, someting disappeared from my order. Not sure what it was. They still have plenty of spices left. I ordered some flaxseed, too, so I can try CL's bread! Got a serving tray and some kitchen towels, too, and a game cookbook. Can't beat that for $3. I tried to reach the $75 limit for free shipping, but I didn't make it- and I ordered quite a few things!

I too went back for more! This time my sister and I shopped together and easily reached the $75 free shipping point!
I am scared to go back and look again-they are adding more stuff as the stuff that is there runs out. The prices are so good it is hard to pass up!
Lisa-please don't tell me they're adding more stuff! I spent WAY too much as it is last week! One bargain I got was a big chafing dish--it was only $25 and it will be great to use during big holiday dinners!

I also put in another order for $87, but almost immediately received confirmation that three of the items I ordered are out of stock!
I absolutely refuse to look over there again, because I know I'll order more stuff....
what was that link again??? http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
Abby - thanks to your post I placed my third order last night with them! I don't know whether to thank you or not! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
I got so much stuff for $45 - a mandolin slicer, a cookbook, a set of dinner forks (can always use extras), a whole new set of glasses, spices etc. Unfortunatley (or fortunately! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif) a lot of the stuff I wanted was already out of stock. I could have spent so much more!
I'm trying to ignore that someone said they keep putting more items on sale. I could go into the poorhouse soon!

This must explain why someone posted that they bought a $200 fondue set for $50, and when I went there, it wasn't on the site.
Guess I need to keep checking. Or NOT!!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

Sandy, could you just not find it or is it out of stock? I still see it there under the serving stuff and "other" serving items.

Yikes - guess I didn't dig deep enough. Now I can justify the $6.00 nutmeg grinder that I've been lusting after.....
Thanks Susan!

Uh huh - it sure is. I kept "adding to cart" til I got to the free shipping bar. How sick is that? And no apologies necessary - my own fingers did this damage!
Don't feel bad Sandy---I bought so much last week that I am getting a free ice cream maker with my order!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

I just spent 1.5 hours on the site trying to get to $75. I finally bit the bullet and bought something for another $15 to bring it up to $85.00.
This site is wonderful. I bought 11 items, including the nut meg grinder, and the nutmeg to go with it http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Count me in as another sucker for these bargains! I didn't spend enough to get the free shipping, but only paid $6.00 for a ton of stuff. The spice selection is great! I was disappointed to see most of the cookbooks already gone though. I hope they continue to put things on clearance!

You're welcome- or should I say sorry instead? That website is a dangerous place.

I went on again today, and they have more stuff, but this time I restrained.

My nutmeg grinder is out of stock and won't be shipped - I'm bummed! Now, though, I wonder if I will be charged shipping, because the price now will be below $75. Any ideas? I've e-mailed them and asked, but I don't know how long it'll take to hear back.

Two of the items I really wanted are out of stock...and won't be shipped. Drats...but new things keep cropping up each day.

6 of my 11 items are out of stock, including some paprika I bought. That's pretty lame http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/frown.gif

7 out of the 14 items I ordered won't be coming to me. I didn't even find out until 2 days after ordering. I'm not sure I will order again.

One of the items I purchased, a twin acrylic wine cooler, was for a friend's housewarming party. I ALMOST opted to pay extra for overnight express shipping, but decided against it. Wondering if that would have helped me receive everything I ordered?

Has anyone else experienced difficulty on the site - had all my items picked to check out and next thing I know some of the items disappeared. I went back and picked out more ( just had to reach the 75.00- ugh ) and then the website froze for 1/2 hour. Needless to say - I lost everything in my cart. Tried again a coupla days later and recieved confirmation 2 days later that 3/4 of items were not available. Is it just me or is there a trick as to day/time?
My order came this week and I am thrilled with everything. I love my new set of Vietri dishes and glasses. I actually priced them at a retail store and I definitely got quite a bargain!

Not to worry MrsReber. I placed my order about a month ago and received it yesteray. I was so excited. I bought a great cake white porcelain cake stand, olive oil, olive wood salad spoons and white nectarine jam. They were all out of the letter cookie cutters... I wish I had discoverd this sale sooner!!
