I guess it depends on what material you couch is made from. I have successfully used both HotShot (areosol can with bright orange top) and Oxy Clean (the one with the annoying commercial but the stuff does work). And after I get the stain out (it's never been curry but pet stains are probably just as bad) I respray with Scotch Guard.

I have something called DriClean which is amazing...worked for me on red wine. I think you can get it at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Let me know and I can try and find a number or a source.

One of the best ways I've found to get curry (turmeric stains) out of my tablecloths is by using a "natural" method I read in a magazine a few years ago:

Dust stain with talcum powder and then dab on glycerin and wait 30 minutes. After rinsing, use a mixture of alcohol and water to clean remaining stain, then rinse.

I don't know how well this technique works on older stains -- but it's certainly worth a try! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

You should call the company that scotchguarded it to find out how to remove the stain. If you cannot contact them, then, usually some soap and water is all you need for scotch guard. I don't think you need any chemicals since it has been treated. We had dark paint get splattered on a white love seat that was over 10 years old, and the paint came off!!! It dried and just peeled off! It was amazing and I believe in scotch guarding now.

Oh, some club soda gets rid of wine stains on carpet - wonder if it would work on curry.
