The new HEB Plus! opens tomorrow at 6 am. The coolest item for sale - a personal video game (arcade style) that has about 20 different games in it, including Centipede! Or the patio table with the inlaid Texas Flag tile mosaic. Or the bread machine for $29.

I'm working all weekend (Fri, Sat, Sun) 9 am - 7 pm. It'd be great to see y'all there. If you do stop by, bring the family for some fun, games, and samples! And have them page me so I can say hello in person!

620 and Anderson Mill in North Austin. We've got the World's Biggest BBQ Pit, the Budweiser Hummer, a giant slide, H-E-Buddy, and a zillion demo stations to snack at. Plus a fresh sushi bar, a gorgeous produce section, Cooking Connection chefs demoing and handing out recipes, awesome bakery items, and some insane deals on power tools. You'll easily kill a couple hours if you tour the whole store!

Oh, and if you're lucky, I may pump your gas for you. Full service at the gas station all day.

Ok, off to bed for me - must be well rested for the big day!

I was thinking of you as I left the HEB Woodlands market tonight. A guy who I am guessing was the last demo chef of the day was behind me in the checkout line -- buying toaster pastries and the junkiest of cereals and Capri Sun. I told him he was going to ruin the image if he didn't take the black apron off first. He did laugh.

For whatever reason, my mind switched gears to Austin and the fact that tomorrow morning would start a new month and the life of your new store. Congrats and hope all your hard work pays off with a stellar grand opening.
