I'm not Longhorn, but I'm a transplanted Houstonian, and hearing about Houston makes me homesick! Kim, where are you at? I grew up in Clear Lake (southeast side, between downtown and Galveston) and my parents still live there. I get back there maybe once a year to visit.

We currently live in Montrose, but we selling the townhome for a trip to burbia.

We have been here 1.5 years and are just in love with it!

Where are you now?

Kim

We live in Oregon now (Eugene, to be exact). I came out here (and dragged hubby, then fiance, along) almost 5 years ago for law school. After school, one opportunity after another has kept us here, although we've always planned to go back to Texas someday. Maybe in a few years, we'll make our way back down. Probably Austin or San Antonio, though -- as loyal as I am to Houston, I love those cities even more!

What suburban area are you looking to move to?

I could be EXTREMELY happy in San Antonio! I also love Austin. WHat beautiful places! DH hates the traffic and lack of places for it to move around in AUstin, though. We are talking about going to San Antonio soon for a weekend!

Hey! I didn't check this board yesterday, sorry. I currently live on the west side near the Galleria, though I work in Deer Park. I grew up in Pearland. Guess I run the gamut, huh?
It's so great to hear from people who LIKE Houston and actually miss it! We have friends from school that we are still trying to convince to move down here. Here's the jist of our pitch -- Houston, it's not as bad as you think! We think we have a new slogan for the city. It's at least as good as "Houston's Hot!" That was actually a slogan for our fair city about five or six years ago!
