View Full Version : sesame wonton chips-CL Nov 03
Has anyone ever made these? I did a search but nothing came up. I can't locate the recipe in the 04 annual and that annoys me.(vent} Anyway, I would appreciate any feed back. I was thinking of making a hot crab [fake-DH is alleergic to real stuff] dip to go with these. I guess sorta like the so good but so unhealthy crab delight.

I haven't made these, but I have made another CL recipe that is something like Parmesan Crisps, but is made with wonton or egg roll wrappers. They are delicious! I bet these would be great too, especially witht that dip.

I made the ones from 3/03 and they were great.
Oh, my, whoda thunk a little won ton could be this good? Be right back. I'm going to make the dip.

We've been making wonton chips for ages! Tell us about the dip!!!!
The chips and the dip are excellent! Not quite crab delight, but very tasty. As I said I had to use fake crab and I know that real crab in the dip would be even better. I wish I could get this fired up with my school work or scrubbing toilets:D
Terry and Kelleg, thanks for the recommendations. I will be sure to try these also.

Here's the Sesame Won-ton Chips from the CL web-site...but it was not in the CL Annual...at least I couldn't find it:
Sesame Won Ton Chips
Our won tons are crunchy like tortilla chips, but will surprise those jaded young palates with the snappy flavors of the seasonings.
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
30 won ton wrappers, cut in half diagonally
Cooking spray
Preheat oven to 375º.
Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl. Place won ton triangles on baking sheets, lightly coat won tons with cooking spray. Sprinkle spice mixture evenly over won tons. Bake at 375º for 4 minutes or until crisp and golden brown. Store in an airtight container.
Yield: 5 servings (serving size: 12 chips)

Sneezles-The dip...Well, I'm a kind of taste and see kind of person with stuff like this. Today,it was jusst the 2 of us for dinner, so I used 4 oz of reduced fat cream cheese, some garlic powder, about 2 tbls. of milk, a shake or two of worcestershire sauce, 1 fake crab leg diced, and mixed it up and put it into a bowl, and baked at 350 for about 20 minutes. A really forgiving recipe; it's all good [except for the fake].You can add curry, top with parmesan, well, you know what I am talking about.
Thanks for possting gabby. I got the recipe off the finder, too, not to be found in the annual.
Littlebit, I know what you are talking about. :)
