Just curious to see if there is anyone out there in the Cleveland area (suburbs) who is interested in a Cooking Light Supper Club.

Hi Cathy,
In response to your post, I belong to a westside supper club. We are entering our 4 year and looking to add one member to fill a vacancy from this summer.
We meet every 6 weeks or so. We rotate the hosting of the supper. The host determines the menu and assigns dishes to the rest of the members. All receipes come from cookinglight with the host preparing the entre. Its a pretty informal club with good conversation. Members ranger form late 20s to early 40s. Some are married with children, other are not. We split the cost of each supper. We don't bring any spouses unless the club is being hosted at their house and then we invite them (as long as they cook something :D )
If this interests you, write back and tell me a little bit about yourself and what you hope to get of out a supper club.

Hi Michael- thanks for your reply! Your group sounds like fun- how many are in the group? My biggest concern is that the condo where I am now isn't very big- I don't know how many people I could entertain :) I like the idea of just meeting new people, enjoying some food, wine, and conversation. Are most of the people from the West side? I am in the western suburbs. I am a nurse, but with enough notice, it is not a problem to schedule around any plans there may be. Glad to hear your group is informal- I love Cooking Light, but I definitely don't utilize it as much as I could. I think it's great for you to have a forum to try new ideas out. Let me know what kind of schedule you (the group) has and I will post back a reply.
Thanks again for the message!

Cathy,
We have 6 members and looking to find one more person to round out to a full 7 members. That's what we've decided is a good size. If we get all 7 great, if someone can't make it, then 6 is still a good number. We've had suppers in close quarters before, so as long as we all have chairs, we are kosher.
WE are all westsiders, thought one lives in Independence and another is Middleburg heights. the rest live close in Fairview, rocky river, lakewood.
Our next supper is Dec 4. we have all our suppers on Saturday evening, usually starting around 6:30. Is there anything else you want to know. IF you are interested, let me know. If so, I'll contact the club to introduce you. Plus, we usually have someone, in this case myslef, meet the prospective member before hand to talk more about us and them.

I understand that you only have space for one in your club and Cathy would get that space. I am looking to start or join a club in the Western Cleveland area. I tried to get in with a starting group about a month ago and everything fell apart and I haven't heard from anyone since. I just moved here about 2 months ago and I am looking to meet some people and have some fun. I live out in Sheffield Lake, but don't mind the drive at all. If, for some reason, Cathy doesn't join your group, please keep me in mind.

Thanks
Carrie

Michael-
I think I will decline for now d/t the fact that I work Saturdays every other weekend. Please consider Carrie- good oopotunity to meet new people since she is new to the area. I am bummed b/c your group sounds fun, but I think my schedule is just too erratic right now. I really appreciate all the info and wish you all happy dining!
