for my BRAND NEW

She's a Professional 6 series 525 watt mixer!

It's older sister, who never had a name, is going to live with my parents, where she will be used for making Christmas cookies when I go home.

Oooh, she's pretty. :) I'm not good with the naming thing, so hopefully someone else can help you out. The first thing I thought of when I saw "Imperial," was Star Wars. But I don't think you want to name your pretty mixer "Storm Trooper."

How about Darth Vader? JUST KIDDING! :D
The mixer is gorgeous!!

She is pretty. How about a feminine name like Sylvia?

Honeygirl, I believe that Hejazsunkat's mixer is named Darth Vader.

How funny! But we can't have two Darths on the board, that's for sure! :D

Mine is nameless, but I'm giving it to my sis when I move to France, and maybe she will find a good name for it.

For some reason, the name that comes to mind to me is Enola. ;)

Congrats on the new purchase!

I'm not exactly sure where my mind is right now, but the first thing that popped into my head was "Pigeon". :D

She is so beautiful. She looks like a Sonya to me.

Well the first thing I thought of was Spike , but I see you've decided she's female. (not that that entirely rules out Spike--my boss' very lovely and feminine 6th grade daughter is known to everyone as Spike).

However, I think Storm would also work--all X-Men Halle Berry like and all.

Sorry everyone, but I want to stay away from Star Wars!

I like Smokey, so that one's in consideration.

The female names are good, they're just not grabbing me.

Only other one I've come up with is "Star", which I kind of like.

I'm also considering "Pearl"

Storm :)

Because of the color, she kind of reminds me of an old film star, like Bette Davis. I don't watch old BW movies, but maybe someone knows an old film star whose name would be good.

Since mine is named "Red" (for obvious reasons), I'm clearly not the best to offer suggestions...

How about Julia? In honor of...

Maybe it'll bring good vibes.

Congratulations on your new baby! :D

Erin, congratulations on your new toy. I have that same model in almond and I love it. Can't believe that for many years I didn't think I wanted one!

I'm not particularly good with names (I have Sandy to thank for "Joy" :D ), but here's what I came up with:

Lady Grey
Duchess
Countess
Portia

Good luck and let us all know when you settle on a name. Take your time - you'll know the right one when you hear it.

I really like Portia, per Jasmine-Rose's suggestion.

I also like the Black Pearl!

Have fun with the new baby! So very exciting!:)

Soooo jealous!;) Congratulations!

I like Pearl. Not only because she is reminiscent of a beautiful Black Pearl but because I'm reminded of Aunt Pearl from a Tuna Christmas. :)

I have the same one and many of the already mentioned names sound great! Someone on this board suggested "Bubba" to me and somehow, it just stuck. Such a big machine needs a big name. How about "Big Bertha"? I had wanted to go with a female name as well, but now we are used to calling her/him/it "Bubba". Whatever you decide; a gorgeous mixer by any other name, is still a gorgeous mixer. ;)

I like 'Anne'--she was the miracle worker who taught Helen Keller.

Dove is my thought when I see that colour.

Sigh. Everytime someone gets their beautiful KA, i feel the pain of still being separated from my dear beloved Jett, who is out there, somewhere. :D

I agree with Gilgamesh... I like SPIKE!

Jasmine--great names! I would pick Lady Grey!!

ErinM
10-15-2004, 05:19 PM
Oh my gosh! Everything sounds good...Ok, here's what I like:

Lady Grey

Dove

Portia (or maybe Portia Pearl?)

Decisions, decisions....

Avril - what happened to your Jett?

Correct, because he's shiny and black but I don't mind sharing the name. :D I'm bad with the naming thing too but there have been some great suggestions here. Enjoy your new baby.

Ok, I've think I've got it narrowed down to two:

Star

or

Lady Grey

Ok, everyone, please help me out and vote! I'm trying to work both names in, but nothing's grabbing me...

Lady Grey Star?
Grey Star Lady?
Star Grey Lady?

Are we naming a mixer or a race horse? :D I like Lady Grey (but I keep thinking of Earl Grey too...maybe your mixer has a boyfriend.)

LOL! :D She does, he is the food processor....;)

Maybe you should wait for the name that really grabs you? She will have to live with her name the rest of her life. :)

As for the two you mentioned, I prefer Lady Grey over Star. A dark grey mixer doesn't really make me think of a star.

Excellent! He should be coming in the mail this week!

The matter is settled...the mixer is Lady Grey, the food processor, Earl Grey (even though I think he's white....it's a gift, so I don't really know!)

Erin- Congrats, and good names.

Does anyone else find it funny that people know each other's mixers names?

My poor white mixer still has no name. A very unorigial mommy. Maybe I should name her "stay away" because I make such nice cookies that aren't on my diet...But, she does have a place of honor on my counter...

Mine too, is nameless. I guess I never really thought of naming the thing. Of course if I did that then I would have to name the FP and my waring blender. Any ideas for one that is bisque in color (both mixer and FP) and then a chrome blender?

Well, someone on the board (sorry, I forget who) has an 'Almond Joy'...very cute.

'Almond Joy', I like it may go with that...I guess I am just not that creative in thinking up names for these things.
