I had one of these today at the local cafe - absolute heaven!
It was basically a chocolate chip cookie with a truffle in the middle of it. I've been searching for a recipe, but haven't come up with any. There are many companies that sell them, but I want to make them. Anyone have any ideas how?

Wow, this is uncanny that you posted this today because I just bought a Chocolate Chip Truffle Cookie at the bakery at Sutton's Marketplace in Queensbury, NY yesterday. It was delicious, and is exactly what you described! I, too, would love to find a recipe to make them at home! :)

I love Sutton's! My husband is from Lake George, so whenever we visit his family, I always head there. The also have fabulous carrot cake. Let's hope someone knows the secret of how to make these!

The problem with having unorganized recipes is that I can remember parts of the recipe, but can't find it! I have seen and intended to try a recipe that had a Lindt truffle in the center. I am not sure if it was dough wrapped around the truffle or made like the cookie with the Reese's peanut butter cup in the center. I will keep looking for the recipe.

I've looked and did not find recipes using truffles but cookies with a "truffle" center when they are done baking. These sound good too!

kats8605 - I found this recipe on recipezaar. I put a small ball inside my regular chocolate chip cookies, and the results were good. I was looking for the truffle part to be softer than it turned out, but the taste was great!

Ultimate Chocolate Truffle Cookies #72184
recipe by JamesDean'sGirl

These little gems are bursting with scads of chocolate:) and just a minimal amount of flour to hold everything in line! Crispy outside and soft inside, with a chocolate rush so intense your mouth may feel it for days!!! Hope you love these:) 48 cookies

4 ounces unsweetened chocolate
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided
1/3 cup butter
1 cup sugar
3 large eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup flour
2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
powdered sugar, for dusting

In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the unsweetened chocolate, 1 cup of the chocolate chips, vanilla, and butter together; stirring, until smooth.
Remove pan from heat; cool for 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together for 2 minutes with an electric mixer on medium speed.
Beat in the vanilla and chocolate mixture.
Combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; add to the chocolate mixture just until combined.
Stir in the remaining chocolate chips.
Cover dough and chill for at least 3 hours.
Remove about 1 cup of the dough from the refrigerator; with lightly floured hands, roll into 1" balls.
Place 2" apart on ungreased or parchment paper-lined cookie sheets.
Bake in a preheated 350*F.
oven for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly puffed and set.
Cool for 3-4 minutes on the cookie sheets before removing to a wire rack; cool completely.
Dust with powdered sugar.

Good luck - be sure to let me know if you find any other options!
