Amana side by side CABINET DEPTH frig; is yours loud?

I have a freestanding counter-depth, side-by-side Amana. It is normally quiet unless it is making ice cubes, then we hear more noise. I'll listen over the weekend for any noticable sounds.

We just purchased the Amana side by side frig that is cabinet depth (mine has cabinet panels on it) last year.

It is very quiet, but occasionally makes very noticable sounds, like its running.

I don't mean to sound stupid, but I'm wondering if it's supposed to be quiet. We paid quite a bit for our new appliances and I want to make sure that we get them fixed, if necessary.

Yup, it is pretty quiet. Ocassionaly I hear a fan turn on. If your unsure if you have a problem, check with the manufacturer, it is probably under a warranty.

I have to agree, I have a 9yr old Amana side by side and the only time I hear anything is when it fills the ice cube trays and dumps the ice.

If yours is noisy, I'd get it looked at while it's under warranty!

I have a three year old Amana, with the freezer on top. It periodically makes loud noises. We called to complain, & were told that many of the new models are noisy. I have no idea why.

My next refidgerator will definitely not be an Amana.
