I'm considering starting a CL supper club in St. Joseph, Michigan with another interested lady.

Is there information somewhere on how people are doing this? I did run a search with the words "Supper Club." I also looked in the Supper Club section of the web site.

Any ideas? Thanks.

The way we did ours is that someone posted an interest on the bulletin board for the area of the country. Basically, it asked if anyone was interested joining a supper club in the area. We got 10 responses, and agreed by email to meet at a Starbucks (it's a good safety idea to meet in a public place the first time). We then hammered out how we wanted to do it (how often? what time? significant others or not? etc.) Our first get-together is later this month for appetizers and dessert. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks for the idea of getting together in a public place. It's so logical that I'm thinking, "Why didn't I think of that?"

Any more ideas anyone? What has worked well in your group? We'll have more to discuss if we have some ideas of what others have done. Maybe there are things that you should have done differently?

We meet once a month (on a Sunday). We decide at the meal what type of recipe each of us will make next month, and usually have the new CL in hand. We take turns on the type so that no one is always stuck with the entree ($$$). I also like the fact that there are 7 of us; not too many people. We make the food at home, then meet, eat and chat. The person who hosts just buys the wine (since she/he has to clean and set the table, etc.) I know I've been very happy with this. We've met for dinner 4 times so far and they've all been hits.
