Hi everyone,

I don't post that often, just like to read, but I had to ask around!

Has anyone ever tried the exercise program called Callanetics? I've been reading a lot of great things about it and am thinking of starting.

I'd like to hear if anyone has any positive/negative experiences with it!

Thanks in advance,

Do you mean calisthenics? If so, this is just stretching exercises and is not new. If this is NOT what you mean, then I have no clue.

I used to have one of the books. I liked it. Don't remember seeing results, but I probably didn't stick with it (it's been a long time and I don't tend to stick with programs). It's nice and non-painful tho'.

I haven't checked today, but this topic might get more replies on the Healthy Living board.

I bought a Callanetics book YEARS ago. The exercises are very tough and you have to do TONS of reps (I remember one exercise told you to build up to 100 reps), so I didn't stick with it. I haven't heard anything about it, good or bad. The book I got was written in the 1980s. My guess is that Callanetics is enjoying a resurgence (I heard there's a video out) because of the new interest in yoga and Pilates.
