View Full Version : cranberry liqueur?
Time is running out for Thanksgiving cranberry liqueur makin'. I don't have any glass jars except for 1.50 ml wine bottles or a 1/2 gal. milk container. Help!!!Are thesse suitable for storing the liqueur? Should I empty some jars in the fridge? What have you used?
TIA.

Any glass jar that is big enough will do. I am fortunate enough to work for a company large enough to have a cafeteria and I went and asked for large glass jars. They gave me a total of 3 wide-mouth jars - I think they are 1 gallon or a little larger.
But you do need to use glass. I like the wide mouth because you can add or take out your ingredients a little easier.
My cranberry licquor (sp?) has been aging since last Thanksgiving so for my next dinner - on Nov. 20 - I am serving cranberry cosmopolitans.
Good luck.

Thanks, Carol. DH and I work at places with cafeteria-schools! I will ask them and instruct DH to do the same tomorrow.

I made mine in quart canning jars. Wide mouth is easier, and I would be afraid the wine bottles would be difficult to get the cranberries in and out of.
Thanks for the replies. I bought a 128oz. glass jar with screw on lid yesterday. The countdown begins!

How long does it need to age? Am I too late? I remember the thread for last year ... will have to go digging for it ...
