Still waiting for November CL

I know a lot of you have problems receiving CL, but mine has always arrived before the first of the month. Until now. I'm wondering if this issue seems particularly delayed? Or am I the only one who doesn't have it yet? :confused:

You just knew I was going to say me too didn't you :D It has been on the shelves here for about 2 weeks but hasn't appeared in my mail box - but then I am still missing Bon Appetit, Gourmet, Family Circle to name a few. Where do these magazines disappear to? I can understand mine being late due to the nature of getting it here (understandable but still disappointing - it's Hawaii FGS not Siberia) but on the mainland - this I don't understand. You would think that they are all mailed at the same time, so give or take a few days you should all have your issues. Oh well, back to my dart board theory ;)

I always get my CL fairly early, yet the Novemeber issue has not yet arrived (Pittsburgh area). It has been on store shelves for over a week, though. GRRRRRR.

I haven't received it in Vermont either. It used to arrive like clockwork the Wed. before the first of the month. Ever since I renewed, it's gotten later and later. I saw it in the store last week! Now I'm disappointed that I renewed for two years, I will probably reconsider next time. :rolleyes:

Me too..although it has been late now for the past three months. The same is true of my Southern Living magazine, which I have not received yet either. It seems to ba an "all in the family" problem!

Still waiting here too. It kind of annoys me when they tell me to go buy it and they will extend for one issue. The point of my subscription is that I am saving money by not having to buy it at over $4.00 an issue. This defeats the purpose. Heaven knows I am not buying it because it is going to arrive in my mailbox before it arrives on the shelves :rolleyes:

Not here either - South Carolina. I thought about extending my subacription but not if I can't get the current issue before the month starts! I can read the magazine at the library (where I work) for free and copy the recipes I want. I'd rather do that than wait around for late issues.

Not here either. I hope it arives today as it is a real "reading day" - it is pouring outside! I have another few years on my subscription but if renewal was close I probably wouldn't renew. It is so annoying to see it at the grocery store and bookshop and not be able to receive it at home. I remember when a subscription was actaully worth something to a company - the benefit was that you received the magazine before it arrived in the stores and at a reduced rate. But the magazines also got something - my money in advance and advertising revenue. Guess it doesn't mean much anymore, and I am not just talking about CL. I still can't figure out why some magazines are able to arrive on time and others are very, very late.

Mine isn't here either. Usually, it just takes an official whine for it to appear the next day. It even rained. My mailman likes to put magazines right at the edge of the mailbox and leave the door open just a teeny tiny bit so anything and everything is totally soaked. I've had several months of having nicely soaked CL's. Of course, that just means I have to wait yet another few days for it to dry out enough to turn the pages.

No rain in sight...I guess I won't get the magazine for another few day. I don't think my copy has ever been this late either. How late does it have to be to complain to the 800#???

LOL! It never rains but it pours? Well it is absolutely pouring here - has been all day - and all my mailman brought me was a renewal notice for House asd Garden (not even mine, it was a gift subscription)and a Macy's sale catalog. Drat!

I think I saw it somewhere that the 7th is the magic day for calling and reporting it missing in action. Of course this is usually the trick for it arriving the next day.

So now I know the answer - it has to be raining AND it has to be after the 7th when you have called and then it will arrive.

Ok...here's the plan...wait a few days past the beginning of the month and post a monthly WHINE in the "still waiting for x-month to arrive" thread. Wait for next rainy day for it to arrive in the mailbox (so it's sufficiently soaked).

If that doesn't work, post a second whine and threaten to call CL for a new issue.

Go to mailbox.

Find magazine. :D :D :D


PS....this was a bonus day. I also got the December issue of Bon Appetit. :D :D :D

I called also...I told the girl this has been a regular thing...she put a trace on it to see what is happening...when I asked why this was never done before, the girl told me you have to have at least 3 complaints in a row of "no shows"...this was it for me...needless to say, I will not be renewing next year:mad:

I finally called this morning to report November missing. When I first went through the touchtone system and entered my account number it stated that my subscription had been cancelled on Oct 13 - my subscription runs until 2007 so I quickly pressed the button for customer service. I was advised that they didn't know where this info came from, as I am paid up until 2007 just as I thought. They will extend my an issue and I am going to go buy one today. Grrrrr - buying it off the newstand is so darn expensive and extending me by 1 issue sure doesn't cover it! I casually asked if there had been many people that had not received this issue and she said yes. According to her they had a problem with mailing it out late, and I informed her that according to the bulletin board some people had no problem getting it and others didn't get it at all. She said maybe they will look into it :rolleyes:
