I am 99% sure I am going to get my husband a foodsaver for the holidays. Any recommednations on which model is the best?

Likely to be used for freezing meats, storing dry goods, and storing pre-made lasagnas and casseroles.

What will he mostly use it for? I was interested in doing baked goods so ended up going for the Pro II since I have more suction levels and the manual over-ride.

I second the vote for the Pro II. We use our quite a bit, especially during hunting season. They just seem to hold up better.

This is going to be my Christmas gift to my DH. The other one burned out after a year. We use it for deer and squirrel meat. So you are saying ProII for that?

Good thread, timely thread.

I'd like to buy one and I would use it mostly for meat (buy a econo-pack and separate it into smaller serving sizes), sauces, lasagna, etc. Any thoughts on which model would be best?

Many thanks!
