Hi Everyone!
I am going to attempt a Barbie Cake this weekend for my daughters 4th birthday. I found some great advice on an archived thread. ( I would provide you the link but my techinical skills are limited).

Basically, I bake the cake (in a tube pan, a bowl and a round pan). Stick Barbie into the cooked cakes so the cakes resemble a Barbie skirt. Ice the "skirt".

In the past when I have iced cakes I've had a problem with the cake crumbling. Do you recommend freezing the cakes before icing? I am planning to use the recipe posted on the archived message. Any advice would be appreciated.

thank you

I remember the only time I did a Barbie Cake. My daughter was about 6 years old. She's turning 29 next week....what a nice memory. I think I would freeze the cake, take it out & brush the crumbs off then frost. It does make it easier to frost. I am not an expert on frosting cakes but I have done that in the past when I wanted it to look as good as it tasted. ;) (Although the taste ususally wins)
