Hey y'all -
I'm looking for a menu for a post-10K dinner party for up to 10 people. I need some recipies that aren't TOO complicated and can be made slightly ahead of time. Anyone have any ideas?

Here's the link to a thread I posted a few weeks ago. I made this menu for my birthday and thought it was very good and easy. I doubled the strata recipe (I just made two stratas) and 1 1/2ed the soup recipe. This was for 12 people. There was tons of leftovers for both so I'm sure you would not need to double for 10 people. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/Forum1/HTML/005585.html

Hi, no menus exactly, but I do have a book to recommend. The New Elegant but Easy Cookbook by Marian Burros and Lois Levine (get the "new" and revised one, not the old one). I've tried and liked some recipes from it, although I haven't used it for a dinner party myself (never had one before actually). I recommend it, because Marian Burros tries to go light (although not as light as CL), pretty much every recipe can be made ahead (the recipe indicates how far ahead) and the back of the book has different menu suggestions right down to a complete shopping list and "count down game plans" for getting ready. I found mine at Half Price Books for around $8.00. You can peruse it in a book store to see if it would be useful or check if it is at your local library. Good luck and let us know how it turns out (and what you make)!

Poor CL! We use their web site and nobody ever thinks of using this reference tool which is right under our noses...
Check out the menu suggestions on this page: http://www.cookinglight.com/food/menu_ideas.asp
...and forgive me if I sound like that awful person posting plugs for his web site several months ago... http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
