vegetable food coloring?

I have to make playdough for DS's preschool, and the recipe calls for vegetable food coloring. I just used the regular kind. Is there a difference?

I think it's the same thing, though I just looked at a bottle of McCormick's food coloring, and it doesn't actually say "vegetable" on it. All I can say is, before you brought this up, any time that "vegetable food coloring" was called for I just used the regular little bottle without giving it a second thought. As long as it's food coloring, and not some poisonous dye, I don't see why there would be a problem.
