Can broccoli cheese soup be frozen?

I made a big pot of soup yesterday - and there's no way we will get it all eaten before I need refrigerater space for Thanksgiving.

I haven't ever tried it, but I think the broccoli might suffer as it has already been cooked once. Couldn't hurt to try it, though, if the alternative is to throw it away.

I think it would depend on your recipe. I frequently freeze the CL broccoli-cheese soup (the one that uses Velveeta). It comes out okay...no major problems, but not as good as when it's freshly made. The consistency is lumpy at first but when reheated it smooths out again. I frequently do this in lunch size portions.
