I remember reading about this topic a while back and several people mentioned that they liked Morningstar Farms corn dogs (so do I).

Anyway - last night we tried their hot dogs. They are wonderful - texture, taste, everything. They're only vegetarian, not vegan. They're made with some sort of milk product, I think.

Oh yes. They are fantastic!

Whole Foods had their Yves tofu dogs on sale so I bought a pack yesterday. we'll see how they stack up...

We also like MSF veggie dogs, as well as Yves.

I like them in this order:

Smart Dogs
Yves
Morningstar Farms

One tip if you're going from the MSF to the other brands that don't come frozen is to go ahead and freeze the Yves or SmartDogs after you open them if you don't go through them really quickly as they will spoil in about a week. The do get a darker color in the freezer but cook exactly the same as directed on the package and taste the same too!

Just don't get the Tofu Pups...the taste wasn't really the problem. It was their bright orange color. It was very unappetizing and impossible to get past.

Thanks so much for the tip, laughs and laughs. I'm maniacal about food freshness.
