Does anyone have a granite composite sink? I'm looking for feedback on scratching, chipping, staining, showing water spots, etc. We were shopping for a new sink for our new house and quickly eliminated stainless steel (it looks terrible against our countertops) and anything enamel-finished for the reasons I listed, so we were pretty much left with granite. The other nice thing about it is that it can be either under- or over-mounted, so if we ever switch to a solid-surface countertop, we can keep the same sink and undermount it.

This is similar to ours:

We've already picked it up, but it's still in the box and can be returned since we can't install it until we close on the house. I'd love to hear any feedback from anyone who has had experience with one, either positive or negative.

Thanks!

There is a company that makes copper and nickel sinks. I think they're based in Arizona or New Mexico. One of my Southern Accents magazines had an ad for them, but I just looked at the current issue and it wasn't in that one. I will look through my past magazines and see if I can find it. The sink is styled like a porcelain farmhouse sink with the exposed front. You can pick the finishes like a brushed or hammered one. I have no idea what your kitchen is like, but I thought these sinks were really cool.

I have no experience with granite sinks and haven't heard or read about anyone who has one.

Eva,

We put in a Blanco Silgranit sink recently.

So far, I've been really happy with it. Stainless steel really wouldn't have worked with our countertops either. The sink is quite a bit deeper than what we originally had. I did have some issues with water spots, but I cleaned the sink with some vinegar and that seems to really have helped. Blanco's website lists some care instructions that would probably apply to any granite composite (although the picture that you posted looks kind of like a Blanco, is it?).

Hope this helps!
