Can anyone give a spring dessert/treat idea? The handyman in my building is so sweet (he recently spent over 30 minutes fixing my a/c so we wouldn't have to pay a repair man). I want to bake somethig special for him, to say THANKS. It doesn't have to be from CL, but I'd prefer it (let's keep everyone 'light'). Any recommendation/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Lemon Squares from sometime last year I think (they were on the cover) are great and I've given them to lots of people as thank yous and things and everyone seems to love them and they definitely don't taste low fat.

The lemon squares are from 1999 and are on the cover of the CL 2000 annual. I made them a few months ago and they are yummy-my roomie keeps asking when I will be making them again! I wonder how they would taste substituting lime juice and rind. I would post the recipe, but I am at work.

I have a similar suggestion. The Butter Crunch Lemon Bars from Jan/Feb 2001. But, I know that some people here were unimpressed with them. You may want to check past threads (I think people tended to spell it "buttercrunch" instead of Butter Crunch")

The December issue had some nice looking cookie recipes. The only one I tried were raspberry strippers, but they were quite good. And raspberries are spring-ish, aren't they? (BTW, I was one of the ones who didn't like the lemon buttercrunch bars. I've got a batch in my freezer and don't know what to do with them.)
