I had this great recipe that I got from a friend of a friend. It was in my PDA which crashed a little while back. I made the Pecans last christmas as gifts and now everyone is looking for them for this year. I need to find this recipe..... Someoen please help...
Here is what i remember. You made sort beat up egg whites and sugar (and maybe some other ingredients) then coat the pecans with it. Place this mixture on a baking sheet with butter that has been melted. Then you cook for 30 mins stirring every 10 or so. Anyone have a recipe like this...
THANK YOU!!!

There was a recent thread on all sorts of nut recipes. In particular there was one posted by RebeccaT that sounds like the one you are looking for. Here is the link Nut Recipes (http://http://community.cookinglight.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=65714&highlight=nuts)

Oops! Should have done a full check on this one. Funny thing is that when you right mouse click on the link and see the properties it has the same thread number as listed by Bethany, and I copied the link the same way I have previous ones. Oh well, I will check out the next one I post before it sneaks through.

Thanks everyone for you help. These all look great. But I also found my lost recipe online at cooks.com. So I thought I would post it in case anyone was interested. These are my grandmother's favorites. Actually everyone who has them LOVES them. they are just VERY addictive!

SUGARED PECANS
1/2 c. butter
2 egg whites, room temp.
1 c. sugar
Dash of salt
3 c. pecan halves
Melt butter in a 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar and salt, beating until very stiff. Fold in pecans. Spread pecans in prepared pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, or until browned and all the butter is absorbed. Stir at 10 minute intervals to coat evenly. Remove to waxed paper while still warm. Cool completely. Store pecans in an airtight container. Yields 3 1/2 cups.
