Kitchen Aid or Cuisinart

I want to get a decent blender (cause I don't have the budget for a Vita Mix which may last forever) and the cuisinart is cheaper than the Kitchen Aid.. are there any differences?

Eventually I will get a KA stand mixer so I wanted them to match

I think the cuisinart is only 39.99 and the KA was about 69.99 or more on Amazon.com

I don't know about the differences between KA and Cuisinart but I just went to Consumer Reports to look at their ratings for you and they are rating the Braun Powermax MX2050 as their top performer ($50) so that might be one you'd like to consider. The Cuisinart Smartpower SPB-7 ($70) came in 3rd, Kitchenaid KSB3 ($90) came in 7th, Cuisinart Smartpower Premier ($100) came in 8th and Kitchenaid KSB5 ($135) came in 15th. Those ratings were as of March, 2004.
