My bills are a mess and I am thinking of using a online service. I read through some old threads, but wanted to know if there are any recommendations by current users. My bank doesn't offer the service so I am looking at other services. I know that there are different options such as Paytrust, CheckFree and also signing up with individual merchants. Thanks in advance.

I use this one and have yet to have any problems with it.

I used to use one through the U.S. Postal Service but they stopped doing it and switched all of their users over to this one (if we wanted to). Did you want one where you could just pay online instead of having to write checks because I believe there is also one out there that you authorize all of your bills to be sent to them and they will tell you when things are due. I can't remember the name of that service but I'd know it if someone said it. Apparently at the end of the year they would also send you a CD of all the transactions on your account during the year too. I know that info is in one of the old threads because I remember someone on the board who used it.
We have used Quicken for years and years...it also budgets and does taxes for us. We have the option through our bank to get online downloads, then we just have to download the information every few days. We can send checks and have instant access to checks we've sent. I know Quicken is probably more expensive than what you're looking at, but IMHO it is well worth it!

We use Paytrust...all of our bills go to some address in Iowa and then we pay everything with a few clicks. I was hesitant at first, but I've become a convert over the past few years...and I haven't missed a single bill due date.
They just re-designed their site about 6 months ago, and while it is prettier, I find that it is less efficient. It takes more clicks to do things that were a single click on the old interface. Oh well. It is still a great help to those of us who despite our general high level of organization, have a block against bill paying.

I use mvelopes.com for my budget. They include access to bills.com as part of your service.

Check with your bank first. We have Bank One and have been paying my bills online for about a year now. We've been very pleased with it - no fees and no problems. You can also sign up for auto withdrawl, but I wouldn't do it with just anyone (especailly utilities where the amounts vary from month to month). We do this with our insurance and mortgage.

I have been paying bills on line with Bank One for almost 5 years now. I have had a couple minor issues, but they were handled easily and quickly by the Bank One customer service staff. I think I have saved a small fortune is postage, not to mention a huge time savings. If your bank doesn't offer it, I think I would look for a bank that does.

This is a very late thanks for the responses to my post. I researched and discovered that my brokerage account offered online bill paying. I signed up a few months ago. It has been great and has made bill management much easier.
