AWFUL. I was truly disgusted by the sauce. The flavors were TERRIBLE. I was so disappointed, and mad, because the scallops cost me $14/lb. Next time, I'll stick to experimenting with cheaper things, like chicken and ground beef. The only saving grace was that the scallops weren't actually COOKED with the sauce, so I was able to wash the scallops off under running water and throw them into the sauce from Gail's Canoehouse tuna recipe (see other post -- the tuna was FAB!).

Too bad, cause I LOVED it. How funny that people's tastes can be so different.

I had read a few good reviews just last week, which is how I found the recipe and decided to try it. It sounded good, so I was surprised that I didn't like it. I'm glad you did, though. I guess it's just me.

Now, help me out here... this recipe sounds scrumptious. What was bad about it?
Too much contrasting flavor?
Too bland? Too spicey?

I can't really describe what I didn't like -- I just thought the combination of flavors did not go well together. Really, the only seasonings are chili powder and cumin. They didn't seem to complement the scallops at all. Sorry I can't describe better what I didn't like, but I have to say that this is one of only two CL recipes so far that I found to be truly awful. (the other one was the picadillo, from the recipe finder)

we love it, I made it with scallops and shrimp, really wonderful! but we all have different tastes, that's for sure
