I didn't see a thread, so here goes- Forest Glen, Cabernet or Merlot. It is advertised in the April edition and is one of our old standbys. Tell me what you think. (We really liked last week's Shiraz and put a bottle in storeage.)

Susan, that's such a great quote! And where did you find that graphic?

I've seen Forest Glen's wines before and always wondered how they were; I think I'll try the Merlot -- where is it produced?

Susan I have that quote on a t shirt which I love! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
I have not tried Forest Glen Cab or merlot but the Forest Glen 1997 Chardonnay got a rating score of 90 I read recently. You can drink it now or later.

We were in Key West recently and saw a T-shirt that said something like "Friends don't let their friends drink white zinfandel". LOL

I was out looking for a new wine for our CL dinner, which is this Friday night (4/6). We are having a mixed menu, baked ziti, italian risotto with shrimp, vietnamese chicken soup and several other items. So I haven't decide whether to buy white or red. But anyway I tried a Beringer's Chenin Blanc. Although this will not fit our dinner, I was definitely surprized. We liked it, but DH and I thought that it would be better to serve with appretizers or dessert. It was very similar to Gewurztraminer, fruity and spicy. Should the occassion fit, try this wine. Cheers!

Emily - angelfire.com has graphics to check out! I am guessing California but not sure, it is advertised in this issue of CL. Let me know what you think http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif
Funnybone, I like that, too.
Vanessa, we will have to try that Chardonnay, we have been most happy with Forest Glen's wines!
Theresa Thanks for the recommendation, you do have a mixed but delicious sounding menu. Let us know what wine you choose!!

I believe Forest Glen is a winery in the Sonoma Valley (California). I have never tried their wines either, so this will be a good opportunity! Count me in for a bottle of Merlot! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

SusanL,

Thank you so much for pointing out this terrific bottle of wine! We enjoyed a bottle of Forest Glen Merlot this week and were very impressed with it's smoothness and flavor. An excellent bottle of wine at a VERY reasonable price!

Peggy, glad you liked it, one of our favorite standbys, either the Cab or the Merlot! We are basically red wine lovers but trying to expand our choices.
Looking forward to the next new wine!!

Susan:

I have had both of these before and love them. Thanks for reminding me.
