My son just started basketball. He is four and might I say that this team is so adorable! We've had so much fun watching them. Anyway, my subject it the snack that I'm supposed to bring on trophy day, the last game of the season. Most of the parents have been bringing store bought cookies, snacks, etc. I wanted to do something special that was basketball themed... maybe a cupcake with a basketball design on the frosting? Any other ideas out there? Everyone is always so creative. It doesn't have to be a dessert. Just anything that would be fun. Thanks everyone!

Cracker-jack popcorn balls....the baseball decorated cupcake or sugar cookie would be easy and cute. (strawberry whips and black icing?)
Peanuts in the shell, pigs-in-the-blanket, large pretzels with mustard.

Ok, I am making this up as I go along, but what about if you make little basketball hoops to serve something in?

Maybe circle-shaped sugar cookies made with a cookie-cutter, decorated as basketballs?

And if you used Carolina blue and white, that would be even neater http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

I was thinking a round 1-layer cake decorated as a basketball. You could put the team's name on it.

When my guys were little and it was my turn for snack I used the Wilton cupcake pans that are round(each pan has 6 or 8 cups). Decorated either as basketballs, baseballs or soccer balls...just be careful of that black frosting!

I saw a picture of a basketball cut in half that was filled with chips. A little pricey but cute.
