New York City for New Year's Eve!!!

My husband and I just made reservations at the Hilton Times Sqaure for New Year's Eve (using honors points). I am so excited! We don't travel in advance very often, as you can tell, so I need to made quick dinner reservations for that evening. I am sure all of the good restaurants are booked, but I need suggestions from the locals and seasoned travelers. We have been to NYC a few other times. We do need something close as we want to get a good standing spot to watch the ball. We will also be there on Thursday night as well.

I will be happy to take any and all suggestions! Also, any thoughts from people who have been there and done the whole New Year's thing before will be welcome as well.

I love so many restaurants in NYC. Trattoria Dell'Arte 900 7th Avenue 212 245-9800 is nice. They have a fantastic antipasto bar and the food is very good. But, do yourself a real favor and make reservations for the next day at Norma's for brunch. It is FAB! 118 West 57th 212 708-7460

Thanks SLFlyt for the suggestions. Those look great, but I think we were looking for something more in the vicinity (no subway). I have never been there on New Year's before, but I think the subway will be packed and taxi's will be few and far between. I could be wrong, but that's my thoughts. Any other ideas in the Times Square area??

I like Blue Fin if you like seafood. They have really interesting sushi variations. And a delicious mojito:o . I'm not sure of the address but it's in the area. We go there after shows.

I love Trattoria Dell Arte too and I don't think you would need to take a subway there. Does the fact that there are naked body parts on the walls tempt you? At all? :D :cool:

You're going to have a totally crazy night!! You might also just grab a hot dog and people watch.
