Can anyone recommend a good olive oil? I have tried a few different brands ( 365* from Whole Foods, Trade Joes brand, Bertoli...) none of which impressed me.

Go to Williams-Sonoma...they have great oil and will be able to make a good recommendation!

I just went to Williams-Sonoma on Saturday and asked for an extra virgin olive oil recommendation. The girl recommended a California oil called Olio Santo that is mild and good for drizzling, which is what I asked for. I had it in a salad last night and it was good. Also, at W-S they have a tasting bar where you can sample all of the oils they have for sale. That way you can be sure you are picking one that you like. I didn't have the time to stand there and taste so I went with the recommendation. Next time, I will probably experiment a little more.

Frantoia from Palermo - pricey but a very good extra virgin olive oil! I use it sparingly for special meals!!

SusanL, I agree, I love Frantoia too! Once you use it in your dishes, it's hard going back to the less expensive Olive Oils!
