Just got a notice from our bookstore Chapters to say you can now preorder #6 in the series for $23.65 Canadian. It is on the bookshelves July 16th. Now that is advance advertising. I would assume that the cover hasn't been made know as this is what they are showing:

Yeah, I just got an Email from Borders. If you preorder it now, it's only $17.99. Pretty sweet deal, even if you do have to wait 7 months.

I also see that she said ""The Half Blood Prince is neither Harry nor Voldemort". I wonder who it will be?

Probably a new character...I can't think of any other half-bloods....

though, was Voldemort half-blood? Rather Hitler-esque, isn't it?

Alright folks. Reading the Rumours section of JKR's website, there is a rumour that Crookshanks is an animagus. She says he isn't, but isn't a pure cat either, and if one reads Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, it is possible to figure out what Crookshanks is mixed with.... Any takers? (I need to find my copy!)

Forget it! I found it! He's half cat, half... should I say it?

Two in a hole and four in a pair
and six in a trio you see
And eight's quartet, and what you must get
Is the name that fits just one of me

"A kneazle is a cat-like creature that has the ability to detect untrustworthy animals or humans, though if it takes a liking to a witch or wizard it makes an excellent pet. They are intelligent, independent, and occasionally agressive. They also have the ability to guide its owner home is they are ever lost. The kneazle's outward appearance is even more unique then its amazing abilities. They have over large ears, a tail like a lion, and can interbreed with cats. A kneazle can have up to eight kittens in one litter." -Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Molli - her Patronus is an otter (had to look that one up). Is the answer to the riddle a half? I'm very not sure on that one.

Do you have a guess for my question? It is from JKR's site and I can hopefully get a plot hint if I can answer it.

I'm still pondering...no real guesses yet. Age??? I don't think that's right. Reputation??? Nah.

Any ideas on your end?

1) Brandy is correct.

2) If memory serves (correct me if I'm wrong!) a thestral's eyes are pearly white.

3) Again correct me, but I believe Cho's patronus is a swan.

2 swimming patroni? ;) I'll look it up. You could be right. But whose pranced? Wasn't there a prancing patronus? Or galloping? Drat.

badunnin

I stand corrected - it was a swan. It soared around the room. I think I'm remembering Harry's stag prancing up and down in the courtroom. Or during OWLs.
