OK--I broke down and made one of the green tea recipes, the Pan-Fried Udon Noodles with Tofu I enjoyed it, but only after a few changes. http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/wink.gif
I couldn't find Daikon Radish or Jicama at my grocery and couldn't bear the idea of julienning lots of little regular radishes so...I subbed an entire package of the broccoli slaw for the daikon radish and the carrots. This was at least double if not triple the amount of veggies called for but it worked well.
I found the whole dish to be bland except for the slight minty flavor from the green tea, might just have been the tea bags I used or because I added more veggies?? Anyway--I added another tablespoon of teriyaki sauce and rice vinegar and about 1/4 cup soy sauce and that spiced it up a little bit. Even with those additions, this was not a dish with strong flavors--it is still quite mellow. I'm willing to try it again because of the healthy ingredients involved...tofu, lots of veggies, green tea but next time I'll use a more flavorful sauce but will definitely continue using the bag of slaw--I thought that was a great shortcut!
