Our family consists of my husband, six children (3-14), and myself. I love to cook recipes from CL, but on most occasions I have to double or triple the recipe. Do any of you have big families and if so, do you know of any good dinner-type dishes that produce a lot of servings? Thanks! Berurah

I also have a bunch at my table, mine and the extended family (the kids friends), sometimes as many as 10, but usually about 8. I just do what you mentioned, double and sometimes triple the recipes. Pasta dishes are all ways good for a crowd. I also like to serve big salads and bread to help fill them up.

It is funny, my problem is the opposite, we sit down for dinner and my dh asks what army is coming over to eat http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/biggrin.gif

I agree with doing a lot of pastas...how about:

lasagna...the veggie lasagna from Jan/Feb 2000 is great and you could double it...

Spaghetti

Salisbury Steak---doubling this one would be easy and it is really good...serve with a large bowl of mashed potatoes

Thebaked potato recipes from 2000

Turkey Meatballs in Creamy Parmasan Pasta--another great recipe that would be easy to double..I make the meatballs ahead of time and freeze them for faster dinners later

The peanutty noodles recipe makes 10 servings. I usually halve it to have reasonable amounts of leftovers.
