View Full Version : ?? re: Mexican Lentil Soup with Roasted Garlic (J/F 2005)

I was hoping to make this soup tonight, and in looking over the recipe, I don't think it mentions when the roasted garlic pulp should be added. Am I missing something??? If anyone has tried this recipe, when did you add it?

I remember some discussion on the Jan. Soup thread about what to do with the garlic--hope it helps you.

You're right - they did omit that step. My assumption is that it would get added when you puree in other added ingredients - I don't have the recipe in front of me and haven't made it yet, but as I recall, there's a step where they mention pureeing at least part of the lentils and then pureeing in other spices, etc. - the spices could easily be just STIRRED in, whereas garlic pulp might need to be pureed, so I assumed that's where it would go in. But it probably doesn't really matter so much as it's already cooked.

It's good to know I'm not going crazy--thanks for the advice. It will be a good soup for this snowy, icy day. I'm going to make the Cornmeal-Cheddar Muffins from the same issue to serve alongside.
