I was talking to my neighbor about recipes tonight and she mentioned that she was allergic to iodine - brought on by pregnancy and it never went away.

To all you smart people on this board, is iodine in all fish? She really want to know about the following:

Salmon
Crab

I'm thinking it just deals with all shellfish. But I'm not 100% sure......A lot of help I am.

Iodine is in shellfish. Let your friend know that it's also in x-ray dye. If she ever needs a study that requires a x-ray dye injection she will need a steroid prep and a non-ionic dye. This can be deadly for someone with this type of allergy. But isn't a problem if proper precautions are taken.
