I am in need of some help with garnishes! I am making the Lemon Swirl Cheesecake for Easter and was hoping to find some good ways to garnish this dessert. Any ideas would be fabulous!

You could always do curled lemon peel strips or how about a few pansy blossoms? Or do a MS and sugar the strips of peel?

Mint makes an excellent (and edible!) companion for lemon dishes. If you can get a hold of some fresh mint leaves, you can do all sorts of fancy little decorations http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

Some edible flowers garnishing the cheesecake would really be pretty for Easter...

Your cheesecake sounds yummy. If you're having children present, perhaps some coconut (can color it green if you like) around the base of the cheesecake with festive jelly beans sprinkled around. I wouldn't add jelly beans to the top though, as the dye from the candy will fade onto the cheesecake.

Or you could go with sliced strawberries and mint sprigs on the top and around the base. I find the contrast between lemons and strawberries very tasty. Another garnish could be toasted sliced almonds on the top.

The edible flowers sound great to me!

Just some tips on edible flowers. Be sure you don't buy them from a florist--they can have all sorts of nasty things sprayed on them. My store actually sells edible flowers with the herbs in small plastic containers. If you have a friend who grows pansies and you know she/he hasn't sprayed them that's another option. Or you could buy some plants from a nursery.

Another pretty garnish for lemon desserts is fresh raspberries. This would also look very pretty with mint leaves (and mint, raspberry and lemon are a yummy combo).

Ok a couple of questions! First of all the suggestions sound wonderful! With the edible flowers can you find them at the grocery?
With the strawberries and raspberry suggestions do you think that I should cover the entire cheesecake or just like an outer layer? I think I could experiment but just wanting your input. T.I.A
OH! What does MS mean?

I am also needing garnishes for a Sour Cream Pound Cake and the German Choc. Bundt Cake. Any ideas? Or should I just add the icing or glaze and be done with it? T.I.A

Slice lemon into rounds, slice the rounds halfway through, and then twist them.
