I was watching an 'infomercial' yesterday and there was this - what looked like a 'miracle machine' - the Magic Bullet - does anyone own one of these gadgets and if so are they as good as I believe I was brain-washed into thinking so.
On this topic - which of the smaller choppers do you prefer?

I don't have one, but a friend of mine got one for Christmas. She loves it. She likes a smoothie for breakfast, and this means she has less to wash, I guess.
When she told me what she got from her husband for Christmas, all I could think of was Sue Johanson and the Sunday Night Sex show :D  :D

America's Test Kitchen reviewed these a couple of months ago. They said that you're better off with a good chef knife, but if you have to buy one, the Zyliss is the best. Here's the review online:

The magic bullet isn't a chopper -- it's a mini blender.
From what I've read, it is basically a blender with some very small containers -- nothing to get excited about and other kitchen products are better for each purpose.
I make great Smoothies with my Braun immersion blender right in the beaker. I can also use my immersion blender to puree soup right in the pan.
With respect to a small chopper, I think the small Cuisinart is much better and cheaper.
Think about what you would use it for and then get a more appropriate appliance -- at least in my opinion.

I have the Black & Decker small chopper that I've had forever - maybe 15 years. It's works great. And I also have an immersion blender that has an attachment that fits over a small plastic bowl for chopping. I use my blender for smoothies.

Sarah, Sarah, Sarah! Your last comment had me rolling off my chair. I saw that show for the first time last week. I couldn't believe my eyes (or ears):D

I love watching Sue in the summer. She's very educational ;) But it's too late on a Sunday to watch during the school year. It's the fact that she looks like a grandmother that makes the whole thing really bizarre.
