I've just discovered soy milk and was wondering if it's ok to heat it in recipes. Could I use it instead of milk in oatmeal or pudding?

I always use soymilk (Silk vanilla) in both pudding and oatmeal with great results. I also use it when I make muffins and pancakes and it is great. The only thing that I wouldn't try it in is coffee, as it curdles and looks really disgusting. The taste is fine though! -Becca

I use it just like regular milk in baked goods and casseroles. Works fine in mashed potatoes. For my bread machine, I used dried soy milk instead of dried cow milk. I find this at the health food store.
I have not had any problems whatsoever. Good luck!

Thanks for the ideas -- I'm surprised you can't put it in coffee, Becca, as I put it in my Chai tea all the time. No curdling problems.

Jillmayre thanks for the tip on the dried soy milk. I have a whole wheat bread recipe that I make weekly that has dried milk as an ingredient. Next time I'll try the dried soy milk.

I've been using Silk (soy) offee Creamer for quite some time and it's great.
