I do not know if anyone else has this book by madhur jaffrey but, i thought someone might be interested. i've had this book for a couple of months but was scared to make anything out of it for a while... however, i've made two recipes recently that were excellent.. and her recipes were really easy to follow. one was the chicken cooked with yogurt and the other, chicken in light sauce. both were very good and didn't take an exceptionally long time (especially the latter). if anyone else has this cookbook and any suggestions for other good recipes, feel free to suggest them. if you have this cookbook.. it's great.

I've had this book for years and love using it. I have many of her books, as well as other Indian cooking books. Indian cooking is very easy, but it's somewhat time-consuming, so you just need to plan ahead so everything is done on time. I try to cook Indian when I'm off with nothing to do all day. You can certainly make a quick Indian dish, but I like the entire meal!! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif Try the Cauliflower with onion and tomato, Cabbage with onions, Eggplant bharta, Frozen black-eyed peas, Chana masaledar, and Cucumber raita (I use half the salt, add grated carrot and cilantro) YUM.

I've had this book for years - haven't used it recently, but there is a recipe for potatoes call sookh aloo. It's wonderful and I highly recommend it. I usually make it with the chicken in tomato and butter sauce from the same book, but it is definitely not cooking light http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif
