MIL suffered a minor heart attack and also has vertigo. She has a mended hip which is not helping her when it comes to walking properly, etc. We think she would benefit from having an electric scooter and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them.

Does Medicare pay for them with a doctor's prescription? Are there any scooters that are better than others, and why?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. We don't even know where to begin. TIA

Did she have a hip replacement? I think her specialist would be able to help her on the scooter decission & Medicare Basically once the doctor & your MIL discuss her mobility needs he can start the paperwork. If your dr does not suggest a specific company you can run a search online and contact a company. They will send the required paperwork to your doctor to complete. You will receive some brochures on our products as well as an insurance claim form and other papers to sign. Choose the mobility product that you think best suits your needs, then sign and mail all of the documents back The company will contact you as soon as they receive your paperwork and the qualifying paperwork from your doctor. Once the patient makes the final decissions the company then ships the mobility equipment to you and bill your insurance company (medicare etc)
