pretty soon this board will be hoppin'.

I would like to suggest that you create some categories...such as...Recipe Requests...Recipe Feedback...etc.

This will help organize the board so people know where to look rather than just scrolling through hundreds of messages (and you will have HUNDREDS in no time at all!)

=^..^=

Deanna--
Thanks for the suggestion. As the guy in the commercial says, "We're on that." We wanted you guys to play around with this new format for a while first, and we have some bugs we need to work out technically (for instance, people can somehow still access the old boards ... we're quickly trying to figure out why). Anyway, give us a couple of weeks and you'll probably see some sub-boards pop up. I think the divisions you suggest are great (questions, feedback). I'd like also to create a forum where we might post topics for reaction--you guys could suggest topics or CL could post our own. Anyway, thanks for the feedback! Lisa D

Thank you soooo much for adding the edit function. Saves me the time and trouble of correcting myself in a second post.

Question: have we completely done away with the ability to e-mail readers directly? (or is that the reason for making our profiles accessible to all?) I know this was somewhat of a sore spot for some, but in some cases it was nice (or even preferable) to be able to send a private message.

Addendum: I've requested my e-mail address to come up. Does that take effect later?

I've since gotten the answers to the above. Since I can't delete the message myself, I'll play Emily Litella and say, "Never mind..."

Hi Lisa

I like the new boards a lot too....seem to be much easier than the last ones, but I have one suggestion too...

On the old boards, when you'd clicked on and read a thread, the title of the thread on the main board would change color, signifying that you've already read that one. I liked that feature, as with so many posts, I would sometimes forget what I'd already looked at. This was particularly helpful if I would walk away from my computer for awhile then come back, I could see right where I left off....

On the new boards, I just have to remember what I've already read. A small detail, to be sure, but one that was useful and I'd like to see back!! Otherwise, I'm quite happy with what you've done! Thanks.

Grace --

I think the problem may be that the 2 colors they use (for new and read messages) are too close. Sometimes it's hard for me to tell if I've read all the updates.

Perhaps they could change one of the colors?

You know what (ooops!!)...you're right...I just realized there are indeed two colors, but they were hard to tell apart at first. Sorry I spoke before I really looked! As long as there are two colors, and I now know what I'm looking for, I'll be happy with it the way it is!! Thanks for pointing it out, and again, sorry I wasn't paying close enough attention before I went and said something!!!

I've changed one of the colors from blue to red. This should help distinguish the two apart. Thanks for the suggestion.

Mary, I'm glad you noticed the same thing. I was wondering if it was only me! http://www.cookinglight.com/bbs/smile.gif

It may take a while for all the bugs to be worked out, but I love the new boards!

I see the difference of the blue to red but if someone updates a message my computer doesn't change it to the new color. It looks like I've already read it even though I've only read the old part not the new updated message. Can you change that? ~mary~

Shirley,
So I'm not the only one that noticed it not changing to new color when updated. Nice to know.

I too love the new boards. It's so much easier to use. I feel so at home here. It's great. ~mary~
